B.C.’s natural extremes and sanctuaries are explored by Vancouver artists – Patricia Johnston and Liza Visagie - in their upcoming solo exhibitions at Winsor Gallery. While both painters pursue differing topographies, their works unite in the Group of Seven tradition of disclosing the ‘essence’ of a place. Johnston unveils a heroic series that looks due West towards the Pacific storms off Vancouver Island. Visagie’s new works are icy views of the famous Varley Trail in the Lynn Valley, and the spring rush of the Capilano River.
